Under the pseudonym Upcycling, I discovered used temporary license plates at a scrapyard—items whose recycling is both complex and harmful to the environment. I was so fascinated by their typography and aesthetics that I decided to repurpose them. Upon further observation, the way I arranged the plates reminded me of the structure of a beetle’s carapace, leading me to fan them out accordingly. Their slight curvature naturally formed a shell-like shape, from which a unique seat emerged—giving new value to discarded material.

Unter dem Pseudonym Upcycling entdeckte ich gebrauchte Überführungskennzeichen auf einem Schrottplatz, deren Recycling aufwendig und umweltschädlich ist. Ihre Typografie und Ästhetik war so faszinierend, dass ich diese Schilder nutzen wollte. Beim späteren Betrachten assoziierte ich den Aufbau eines Rückenpanzers von Käfern, indem ich die Schilder fächerte.
Durch die leichte Biegung erlangte ich eine Schale, woraus ein Sitz entstand, der einzigartig ist und dem Abfall neuen Wert verleiht.
